Reunification Therapy
Reunification Therapy (RT) is becoming increasingly recognized by courts, attorneys, and mental health professionals as an invaluable tool to use with divorced families. Many times after divorce or separation (especially high conflict) there is a rift or estrangement between one parent and the child(dren). The reasons for this are complex: a history of abusive or inappropriate parenting, alienation by the other parent, abandonment issues, etc. Wynns Family Psychology has developed a Reunification Therapy process to help heal the parent-child relationship. In addition, successful RT is often used to increase visitation or modify custody schedules over time. Although we prefer when RT is court ordered, we will work with your family if your attorneys both approve Reunification Therapy, and if both parents agree to fully participate and cooperate with the process. Although this therapy can be very challenging and stressful, we find if parents are cooperative and supportive, the rewards and benefits to the parent-child relationship, the child(ren)'s functioning and adjustment, and overall family are extremely successful. Supervised Therapeutic Visitation
Supervised Therapeutic Visitation (STV) can complement other services at WFP such as Reunification or family therapy. STV typically starts off with office visits, and then typically moves to off site visits at nearby parks, restaurants, and other attractions. STV can be court ordered or agreed upon by parents and/or attorneys.

Parenting Makeover

Similar to "Super Nanny" techniques, Wynns Family Psychology will observe your family for 5 hours and provide specific recommendations and coaching geared towards reducing problem behaviors and parents taking back their power. These consultations help families function in a more cohesive and satisfying way.
