Jessica Boisjoli, Ph.D.
Dr. Jessica Boisjoli (Boe-jha-lee) earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Albany, and her Master’s and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Louisiana State University. She specializes in child therapy and testing for both typically developing kids and those with developmental and intellectual disabilities such as Autism spectrum disorders (ASD), Aspergers Syndrome, and Pervasive Developmental Disorder—Not Otherwise Specified (PDD-NOS). Dr. Boisjoli also has extensive clinical experience with behavior disorders, including Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), conduct disorder, and noncompliance. As a child psychologist, she works with families to develop solutions for a wide variety of challenging behaviors and childhood issues, including anger, tantrums, aggression, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), self-injury, respect, school conflicts (in the WCPSS), social skills difficulties, sleep problems, low self-esteem, shyness, anxiety, fear, depression, and other commonly occurring mental health concerns. She has experience in conducting psychoeducational (academic) and psychological evaluations to assess kids’ Intelligence Quotient (I Q), Learning Disabilities (LD), Academically Gifted (AG) students, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Early Entry to Kindergarten (Kindergarten Readiness), and emotional difficulties.
Before moving to the Raleigh / Cary, North Carolina area, Dr. Boisjoli worked at the Johns Hopkins Kennedy Krieger Institute, an internationally recognized facility dedicated to improving the lives of children and adolescents with pediatric developmental disabilities. As an APA intern, she served in the Neurobehavioral unit and Pediatric feeding disorders program, diagnosing and counseling kids and parents with feeding difficulties and other co-existing conditions such as Autism, sensory issues, and behavior problems.
