Our child psychiatrist completed her medical residency in
Psychiatry
and fellowship in
Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
from Penn State University, Hershey, PA. Her previous clinical work included a community mental health setting in North Carolina, with a large client population from Cary, Raleigh, Apex, Morrisville, Durham, and surrounding urban and suburban RTP triangle areas. She is professionally affiliated with the American Academy of
Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
and the North Carolina Medical Society.
A child psychiatrist believes in understanding the biological aspects of a client’s condition to help guide medication and lessen unwanted side effects. She strives to keep prescription dosages and changes to a minimum and to reduce medication dependency over time. And while there are many effective psychiatric medications, a child psychiatrist believes that medicines are not the sole treatment for any condition.
