These child and teen groups, which run throughout the year, successfully help kids develop the social skills and life skills needed to foster positive relationships and effectively deal with the demands and challenges of everyday life. Week-long Social Skills Summer Day Camps are also offered and cover many of the same weekly group issues, including self-control, anger management, respect, bullying, gossiping, teasing, shyness, communication skills, listening skills, friendships, and self-esteem. Wendy also has experience with DBT Dialectical Behavior Therapy Groups for teenagers struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, and self-harming behaviors.

Wendy received her master's degree in professional counseling from Liberty University. In addition to private practice, she also has a background in social services and education. Wendy has worked with adolescents at a crisis shelter, in residential programs for distressed teen girls, and at a program for dual-diagnosed teen boys. She especially enjoys working in family counseling and fostering positive growth for kids and adults of all ages. Wendy's spiritual orientation and worldview is that of a Christian. She is able to incorporate this specific belief system (or other spiritual / personal beliefs) into therapy, based on a client's needs. Also, Wendy has a creative streak and is excited to incorporate art and music in therapy sessions.

Wendy has lived in the Raleigh area for many years and has raised four children of her own. Family is very important to her, and she finds great joy in the fact that hers has been through its fair share of difficulties, but has grown and continued to have close relationships in spite of tough experiences. Wendy enjoys hiking and camping with her husband, and her favorite activity is cycling in the woods!
